ACPI differences between the last two kernel updates for Gutsy
When I installed the development release of Ubuntu Gutsy a few weeks ago, the kernel version was 2.6.22.10. I was pleased to see that I would not have to recompile my kernel to cut out the THERMAL module of the ACPI in order to allow my Clevo M121W to boot without the spurious Critical Temperature bug I've mentioned in the past here: http://
Since then, the kernel has been upgraded to 2.6.22.11 and the problem has come back. I am using the 2.6.22.10 version, still but my question is simple:
What has changed in the ACPI implementation between these kernel releases that has caused the problem to reappear within weeks?
Many thanks for your help!
