Who sent you it? The only files ubuntu will recive automatically are system updates. I have no idea who you think "you" is but it is not clear in the question.

it sounds like he received a virus infected email.

just because someone sends you something and says you have to download it, you DO NOT have to download it. just delete the message, especially if you do not know who it is from.

I'm sorry if my email sounded screwed up. I'm just upset. Every so often I get an upgrade, I guess that's what you call it, from Ubuntu. When this happens there is a little bow at the bottom of my screen that says" upload manager".When I click on it a box pops up on the screen and I can either close it or download it. If I choose to close it, every time I turn on my computer the upload manager is there with the same download for me. If I download it I have to put in a password and it downloads. I was told that Ubuntu does this off and on and it is like an upgrade or a "patch" and to just let them do it. Does that make any sense? I'm sure you can tell I am not a computer smart person by now. I can't even find the "Upgrade Manager" on my computer to tell you all the things I have had to download. They have all come from the same place as far as I can tell. I don't know if this helped you in any way but I hope it did and that you can help me take care of the problem I have.
I was looking at places to go fossil hunting in Oklahoma yesterday on the net and, out of the blue a window popped up saying I had 70+ viruses and corrupted files and to fix it they wanted me to click on something. I didn't do it and shut down my computer right then. That window did not come from Ubuntu I am pretty sure.
That's about all I can tell you right now but if I think of anything I will email you. This is very frustrating for me.
