LUKS Encryption May Lead to Data Loss

Asked by Rami

Hi,
I am using HDD encryption that comes with alternate install(Ubuntu 64bit). I have seen "LUKS Encryption May Lead to Data Loss" which make me worry incase i lose data. The only article that say LUKs leads to data loss.
I want to know if it is true?
How to test data loss in s/w encryption environment that i am not loosing any data.

Thanks in-advance

Rami

As long as you follow the described update steps that Ubuntu advices when installing updates kernels for example, then nothing will happen. This article only warns for some activities that normal people will never encounter. You shouldn't worry too much about the article, it should have been written more balanced and with more care as it scares people in the wrong direction.
