I changed brands and type of hard drive and the problem keeps happening. I read on-line that it might be related to a timing issue my hard drive taking too long to respond. But there isn't a clear solution provided to it.

It may be wise to check out the following page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Smartmontools and to check the health of the disk. Also if you don't have a backup of your data, then this is the moment to make sure you have a backup.

Two separate drives from two different manufacturers using two different connections to the motherboard displaying the exact same errors? What are the odds of two drives failing at the exact same time. Let me hook up the other one and wait for the error to generate again.

something could have short circuited on your mother board and affected the hard drive circuits on the board. have you connected something to the computer with it was connected to power? i've ruined many drives that way years ago.

also, your hard drive cables might be bad.

would be a good idea also to check out your power supply. those don't last forever. you might be getting spikes or sinks.

Can you help with this problem?
