there is no sound error: no gstreamer plugins

I installed 6.06 on my laptop and i tried watch some videos and there was no sound. So i check the sound and it said, no gstream plugins. i also got a another message that my sound card might not be configared. im new to linux so I don't know much of the command line, so i can't figure how to install the gstreamer plugins i got off sourceforge.net

try this command in the console terminal:

# apt-get install linux-sound-base libasound2 gstreamer0.8-plugins

what version of ubuntu are you using? I had the same problem on my laptop with Feisty and after installing all updates sound was working.

with gutsy it works great.
