10.10 keeps freezing for no reason

Asked by mike

Hi I have a p4 2.0 16gb 512mb pc with 10.10.

Recently its been freezing for no reason. I backed off visuals to normal. Once frozen I have to soft boot and its back to normal. I only do web & email, nothing fancy.

I've looked at the logs and its all too complex for me.

Any idea's?

Its an Nvidia card version 173 and is not ATI which has been mentioned on the forums.

Also since 10.10 the pc seems to run slower generally, is the 10.10 overhead larger? Is it worth going backwards to version 9?

try this system = admin. = hardware drivers , at the bottom of the click remove to remove the nvidia drivers . i have an older pc running this way and it will surf the web do email and play simple games .
you should get some more ram .at least another 512 mb to bring your system to 1 gb .

Greg,

Cheers for that. Will try.

I tried to get more memory for the PC but apparently its now not available
and/or mad expensive!

It'll have to stick at 512mb.

Cheers.

Michael
