Why does the notification-daemon need so much memory?

Asked by thake

Hi,

I'm using Ubuntu Feisty and the notification-daemon is using up to 50MB of memory on my system. Why is that? I would never expect a little notification daemon to use so much memory at any time. It seems to me that it has a memory leak. My system is up for 2 days now, but this should not increase the memory used by the notification daemon.

Is this a normal behavior of the notification-daemon?

PS: The last update in my changelog of the notification-daemon was stated as the 7th of Sept. in 2006.

Greetings,

Thake
