Xubuntu install hangs at 65%

Asked by ryan10ad

I'm tring to install Xubuntu (using alternative CD version) on a old Laptop floating round the house. Here's its spec's:

Processer : AMD 366.6MHz
RAM : 64mb
Hard Drive : 4GB
Optical drive : CR-ROm (i don't have a clue about the manafactror)
Bios: Phoenix Bios 4.0 release 6.0
Built: 20/11/98
manafactror : Don't have a clue

I have set up everything right but when it gets to 65% on the files being copyed over and installed, it freezes.
Tried Mentest, and checked CD for errors, and have comback clean. Any ideas???

If you can, try another CD. The CD-check application may be wrong. You should also try to install some other operating system on the computer. If that also fails it might be a hardware problem (most probably the harddrive). You can also check the temperatures in the computer, if something is too hot it might explain the chrash.

Can you help with this problem?
