RAID possible on 10.04LTS Desktop 32-bit and/or 64-bit, or only on Server Edition

Asked by Jackson Wu

I want to configure a RAID 1 (mirroring) with Ubuntu (software based). In the help section (I am running 10.04LTS (Lucid) Desktop 32-bit) it gives only examples of installing with Ubuntu Server Edition.

Is it possible with either of both Desktop Editions 10.04 Lucid 32/64-bit?

If not can Install the Server Edition for the RAID 1 but have a GUI to use it like I would the Desktop Editions?

Or am I supposed to install from the Alternate Install CDs, and will that give me a GUI?

Thanks

It is possible. I have raid1 set up in my everyday PC. Just use the alternate CD of the desktop edition.
The installer is not graphical, but here you have a step y step guide.

Can you help with this problem?
