Cannot establish Palm hotsync in Ubuntu 7.04

Asked by Bruce M.

OK, I upgraded to 7.04 and thought maybe I'd install the windows Palm Desktop software under wine.
Not as easy as I had hoped.

So I tried to use System > Preferences > PalmOS Devices it connect my T-E2

I get:

Warning (gnome-pilot)
Failed to connect using device "Cradle", on port "/dev/pilot/.
Check your configuration, as you requested old-style usbserial "ttyUSB" syncing, but do not have the usbserial "visor" kernel module loaded.
You may need to select a "usb:" device

Old-style USBserial "ttyUSB" --> What is that?
Where do I get this "visor" kernel to install.
Can't find /dev or /dev/pilot

my one and only frustration with Linux ... getting my palm to hotsync. :(

My friend Liu Kun gave me this page to go to:

Install jPilot first ... don't run it yet, then read:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PalmDeviceSetup

and it worked like a charm!!!!!

I can't believe it was right here in Ubuntu all the time, I thought I had read everything here about the subjuct.
