cell phone apps

Asked by Charles Maternus

I am planning on upgrading my cell phone to a smart phone. I talked to a marketer, and he told me that the Android platform uses Google and Linux Freeware for free apps. He also said that I could use the Android as a WiFi hotspot as a catalyst for more accessibility with the Linux platform.

1... As I continue to research this, does the Ubuntu community help/support cell phone apps issues for the Android or other cell phone venues?

2...Are there any good web resource links that review cell phone usthuage and apps with Linux?

3....Is the marketer giving accurate or even remotely accurate information about Android and Linux?

Thanks......Charlie

You can use the phone as a wifi tether if you connect it via usb and have the tethering enabled.

here's a guide I found. not sure if it really needs rooting:
