Can you load Microsoft Money in UBUNTU?

Asked by TeaMan

I am new to UBUNTU and don't understand how to load software into the operating system. I need to get Microsoft Money working on this machine. Can anyone tell me how to load this application on my UBUNTU machine?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

have a look here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation for general info on how to install software for Ubuntu.

As far as I know there is no Linux version of Microsoft Money, please let Microsoft know that you are interested in a version for Linux. Until they release such version, you can give Wine a try https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wine. Wine allows you to run Windows programs on Linux.

Another option is to use a virtual machine running Windows and install MS Money on that, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VirtualMachines.

A third and best (in my opinion) option is to find some software packaged for Ubuntu that let you do your work without depending on MS Money, for example KMyMoney or GnuCash.

Best regards,
Flavius
