How do you map a network drive?

Asked by TeaMan

I have a small home network and share files between the computers. I have a wireless router, three computers connected wirelessly and one HP All In One printer plugged into the router. Two of the computers are windows XP and this one is UBUNTU. How do I map a drive from one of the other computers so this computer can see it and applications on this computer can access the information on the drive?

the correct term in gnu/linux world would be mount instead of map. for that you'd have to use 'smbmount' command. please refer to its manual for details. should you need further assistance, google for 'mount samba share linux'
