where to find the keyboard indicator in Ubuntu 10.10

Asked by AndreyPutilov

I was using Ubuntu 8.10, and to see, what keyboard layout is active, I added keyboard indicator applet to gnome panel. Now, as I upgraded my system to -> 9.04 -> 9.10 -> 10.04 -> 10.10 I cannot use it.

1. The icon simply don`t show the layout. Designers drew a keyboard on the icon, why?
2. The icon is in the middle of tray area, what is wrong. I should be able to move the applet where I want, as it was in 8.10.
3. I have one more icon in the tray, ibus, and it`s purpose remains for me unintelligible.

ok, but with left click it allows me to select writing language, to show preferences and to show the full layout, by right click - nothing. Simple question, how to remove it?

About ibus icon. There were three options: 1. show language panel embedded in menu, 2. when active, 3. always. The first option was set, I changed to "when active" (nothing happened), I changed back (nothing happened), I clicked "restart", the icon disappeared, and I don`t know if it will be shown sometime again (for example after computer reboot).
