Hi,

did you installed the driver for the printer? See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Printers for details.

Can you open the .pdf file using Evince or another viewer?

Best regards,
Flavius

How do you try to print the PDF files?
Do you get an error when you try to print them?

I had a similar problem that was dependent on the PDF file... You might want to try another PDF file. Also, I had a problem with one that would not print if I had a 2-up (2 pages on one) printing assignment selected. When I changed that it printed... I hope this helps!

I've just loaded the latest Ubuntu, and my printer is Samsung ML-1740.
I am being sent PDF files that I can't print satisfactorily. The PDF items are carefully laid out to be only 4 inches wide or a bit less. But I can't print them that way. If I just send them directly to the printer, they are made wide enough to fit the 8 1/2 page. But I want them to print at 4 inches (or less) wide as they are drawn. Is there some way to tell the printer to print the PDFs at the width that it's being sent?

I happened to come across this website PDFfiller.com(http://goo.gl/HtY6Dk) when I was looking for a perfect way to edit PDF files. I would really recommend this, no software to download and install. You can fill the text fields, add a variety of checkmarks, digitally sign the form and even add pictures. After your pdf form is completed, it can be printed, emailed, faxed or saved on your computer. You can even upload your PDF, DOC, TXT and PPT forms to your account and make it a fillable PDf forms. Also you can find the right fillable form anytime using the form search engine that contains more than 10 Million forms.
