PC shuts down at odd times

Asked by kaphar

My Toshiba shuts down at odd times, with no singular event or application running. However, It seems more prevalent when I am using the Open Office Word Processor, but this is my main activity. Is there a bug or virus known that will create this problem or am I just looking at a bad PC?
Thanks
H.
