Install Windows. During the installation, it will overwrite anything/everything on the hard drive.

First rule (well one of them at least) of using linux is that you DON'T download apps. There are thousands already prepared for install. All you do is "add" them with the package manager. There is a simple (but paired down) package manager called simply "add/remove..." in the applications menu. Search and install. Simple. If you want access to more apps use the Synaptic Package Manager (system - admin).

Second rule is to recognize that you will need to adapt to new apps. For example, instead of yahoo messenger you would use gaim or similar app.

Third rule is that linux is free (of license restrictions) and therefore cannot legally include dvd codecs and such. If you want to use linux you will have to accept that you will need to manually set up some of these things yourself (although some distros include this it is not the ubuntu philosophy). It's not hard and there are tons of sites with instructions. Start here --> https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats

If you are not willing to invest the time and effort to do this (how long have you used windows? you can't expect to learn linux in a day) then perhaps windows is best for you. Simply reinstall windows and Ubuntu will go away (you may need to delete the partition first in order to recover the space depending on how you installed). It's that simple.

Can you help with this problem?
