How handle bugs speciffic to a package version

Asked by Andrey Bondarenko

Ubuntu have several supported versions of package at a time. For example as of 2010-10: 08.10, 09.10, 10.04, 10.10). These releases could contain different versions of a package. A bug could affect only some versions, but not the others. Take for example #560803 for sqldeveloper-package. This bug does not affect releases before 10.04 and it was fixed in 10.10, but 10.04 still contains broken version.

Should the bug be marked as fixed or it must be left open? Is there a way to mark bug as fixed in one release, but keep it open in another?
