Ubuntu Installation

Asked by Mohsin Shahid

I have downloaded the Ubuntu .iso file on my Hard drvie. I am currently running MS Windows. Can I install Ubuntu directly from my hard drive or do I need to burn it on a CD first and then use the CD to install it?

Hi, Mohsin!

Yep, the simplest way is to burn the ISO-image to a CD and install from the CD... (I guess some virtualization software will be able to do this without having to boot from CD, but I had no luck with these unfortunately)

Mohsin

I also suggest you to completely defrag and deep check your Win fat32 or NTFS hard disk partition.

Best regards.
