Does Linux have a program similar to Dragon Naturally Sppeaking Voice Activation?

Asked by Diana

I am on Ubuntu with Linux but wanted to purchase the Dragon Naturally Speaking Voice Activation Package--the Standard Package. It appears they do not have a comparable version for Mac or Linux. Do you have a comparable program I can download? I also need to set up a system where I can talk into a tape recorder--hand held in the car or used for interviews--and then plug it into a voice-activated program on my computer so that it transcribes the voice tapes. Your help will be very appreciated. very best Diana

Regarding Wine, here is a walk-through,
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=168711
It might require medium to advanced skills to install.

ViaVoice from IBM was available at some point though it appears to be retired now. There are hints that it might be available again for Linux in the feature.

Can you help with this problem?
