GDM not displayed correctly

I'm using 1024*768 at 85 Hz in my Gnome, it's displayed welll after I loged in.
But the GDM seems not correctly configured. It display is not full screen and not in the center. And it seems not 1024*768 neither.

I am using Dapper with Gnome.

Go to a terminal windows, and type:
"sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf"
go to the resolutions section and delete any one lower than 1024x768, save the changes, close all the programs and press CTRL,ALT,Backspace to reset X
