Thinkpad T510i doesn't shutdown correctly

Asked by Saber One

I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my Lenovo Thinkpad T510i. But when I try to shutdown, it never really shuts down completely

When I turn of the startup/shutdown splash screen. I see the message "Power down", but it only results in the green light around the power button to turn off. The screen is still powered on, no matter how long I leave it on (on AC off course ;) ) In that state none of the keys work.

Besides not shutting down, suspending/hibernating doesn't work correctly. Going into sleep modes only results in a pulsating power button, but I cannot wake up my laptop.
