Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick USB boot keyboard problem

Asked by Tong Sun

Hi,

I have the very same problem since 10.04. If I do a frugal installation onto USB or HD, then I can't type in anything, and it is not a keyboard problem. Details at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/625089/

This is how I do my installations,

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/blog/sfxpt-393704/simple-ubuntu-10-04x-lts-installation-that-allows-multiboot-3118/

"Method 1, boot Ubuntu without expanding CD as files" works fine, whereas
"Method 2, boot without CD" gives me typing problem.

Please investigate. What other steps I should take?

Thanks

Boot to BIOS and set the USB to legacy. Should work.

No, I said "frugal installation onto USB *or HD*", meaning it has nothing to do with USB alone.

I solved it myself. see the linked bug for details.
