Ubuntu 10.10 suddenly full of random pixel lines

Maverick Meerkat updated from Lucid Lynx starts fine (Desktop Effect activated and quick menus) on an old 2004 Acer Aspire 1350 with Athlon XP 2800+ ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 64Mega, then SUDDENLY (5 min/hours) graphic is full of garbage, as you can see here: http://

..Probably related to MESA drivers for ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 64 Mega.
Absolutely no problem with Ubuntu 9.10 or Windows XP on same notebook, so I'm really disapponted!
Please tell me what to test/check...
