My OpenOffice's spellcheck is not working

Asked by Melzy

Yeah...it's not working. I can't see any red wavy lines. I did look at the other reports similar to mine but I can't make it work. One of those reports was saying that the myspell-en-us should be installed. I tried that. I typed "sudo apt-get install myspell-en-us" in the terminal. The respond was:
"Reading package lists..Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information..Done
myspell-en-us is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 122 not upgraded"

I assumed the response meant I already have the myspell thingy. Is that assumption wrong? Did I install it wrong?

Please help me. Thank you.

You could try reinstalling the package in "Synaptic Package Manager". Do a search for it and then right click, reinstall. You could also try that with OpenOffice.org's package.

The response did indicate you have it installed.

Can you help with this problem?
