Toshiba Satellite Brightness Doesn't Adjust

Asked by Wane Dacha

I just installed Ubuntu on my Toshiba Satellite. I'm running a dual-boot with Windows 7. The brightness has been stuck on it's brightest setting, changing the LCD using keyboard Fn keys does nothing, and neither does the applet (I've used the arrows on the slider to adjust, no good). I'm new to Linux and never used anything like this before. Anyone have any suggestions?
