my dell laptop has very low sound and i have ubuntu 9.10 installed

whenever i play the songs in full volume the output from speaker is very low and i m not able to hear the songs please suggest me the solution

update your os in to 10.04

I also had an issue with sound but that was in Ubuntu 9.04. When I upgraded to 9.10 it fixed itself. I can only suggest you try migrating to 10.04 if possible.
