How do I enter special characters in application forms in Ubuntu like ê?

Did you check the Character Table application in the accessories?

Thank you François. This solves part of my problem. Is there a way that I can enter these special characters on the fly without opening the Character Table? Can I use a key sequence for a specific character?

Very good question Hendre, I have no idea. Probably not with the default Ubuntu, but maybe there are softwares to do that ? Maybe you can add another question here, someone may know better than me.
