Hello,

Do you have any more information on your system? From what I have found, the Thinkpad 570 have a PII 333MHz processor and is rather low on RAM. Also how many disk space do you have ?

You might be interested in Xubuntu, a variant of ubuntu that requires less RAM and disk space. You can find more information at http://www.xubuntu.com/get , including minimal system requirement. In any case, Andrea is right in saying you'll probably need to use the alternate install CD.

Regards,

QD.

If your Laptop is an older one, with a low spec, you could try running Xubuntu (http://www.xubuntu.org/), which is designed to run on lower spec PCs and Laptops.

Hope this helps
