Problem to find AVR in synaptic manager

i want to use AVR. last time i send the same questions and there is reply. but the problem is today i try to search the file of "AVR" in synaptic manager, it not appears. who can help me?tq

I don't know if you will be able to run a Red Hat binary out of the box on Ubuntu. I can see on the website that a source tarball is present and I suggest you take this one and follow the installation instructions in the README and/or INSTALL text file inside the tarball.

Hey.. AVR micro controller simulator is available in the ubuntu repositories..... try sudo apt-get install simulavr command from a terminal...
Note: For more avr microcontroller programs, Just search with the keywords 'avr' in synaptic ... (system => Administration => Synaptic Package Manager)

thanks bro..one more thing, i want to know how to install the tar ball file.can you help me?i just using ubuntu about 10 days..still in learning process and need lots of helps..tq
