Enableing Number lock Lock in Grub2

Asked by Aaron Szalapski

I've been running Windows 7 + Ubuntu for a while, and it's a minor thing that's been getting on my nerves, i remember it being reletively simple before but in the latest version of ubuntu it installed a new version of grub (grub2 i believe) and now everytime i boot my comuter, number lock is turned off, any easy way i can turn it on at bootup with this new one?

Do you need numlock in Grub2 or in Ubuntu ? In 2nd case, please remove packet Grub2 tag from this thread.
Numlock is managed independently in Grub2 and graphic server X11.

i need it in both ubuntu and windows, since both password include numbers, i'm assuming grub is what's turning it off for both

If the system is a laptop they often have BIOS options to have the numlock on.

Nah this is a desktop, which was my first thought, but there wasn't an option for it
