Acer Aspire 5251-1805 Webcam drivers?

Asked by jimm

I just bought an Acer Aspire 5251-1805; the first thing I did was to remove Win7 (yuck), my problem is trying to find drivers or a way to activate the built-in webcam. Does anyone have an idea about how to do this? I have contacted Acer - but they do not support the laptop for Ubuntu, only for the Netbook.
I am still a newbie at Ubuntu (I love it, but need to learn more), so if you have a solution please keep it at 3rd grade level (heh).
Thanks, jimm

I tried to run the script, unfortunately I need your help with a bigger problem that has just appeared... For some reason my system is "switching" between menu tabs when I select them. The menus start flashing back and forth from Applications/System/Places like a strobe light!? Do you think I should re-install Ubuntu again?
