drivers for Vaio VGN-BX396

Asked by Rüdiger

Hello, I have installed Ubuntu on my Vaio VGN-BX 396 Laptop (next to windos xp) and experience serveral problems:
1.) the mouse driver / touchpad driver acts strange, i.e. every now and then the cursor flys around the screen and clicks every available icon on its own, sometimes ubuntu hangs up
2.) ubuntu hangs up everytime I change power supply from battery to mains adapter and the other way round
3.) lately the sound is turned off, and I can't turn it on again
I assume this are questions of driver compatibility? But where do I find the correct drives, and do they exist at all?
Thanks for help,
Rüdiger

For the mouse, try these boot options in various combinations:

i8024.reset
and/or
i8024.nomux=1
and/or
irqpoll
and/or
i8042.nopnp

The last one worked here:

So may be worth first look
