6.06 LTS Install don't start on Compaq DL380 G2 2x1400MHZ

When booting the install CD for Ubuntu server 6.06 LTS, the install kernel will not start. I choose the first option on the menu, "Install to first hard disk"

The server is an older Compaq DL380 G2 with two 1400 cpu's.

I am dependent on this version to run vmware server...

Please help!

Have you tried installation with the Ubuntu alternate CD ?

I succesded with the installation when I found theese boot parameters: "linux noprobe acpi=noirq askmethode"
The raid kontroller was detected, and I only had to choose the primary network interface.
