Asked by Roger Gardner

I need a driver for LSI 6G 0/1 Raid Controller. I can't even install Ubuntu, because it will not find the hard drives.

Trying to install Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS on Fujitsu TX200 S6. I got openSUSE 11.3 to install but Ubuntu.
We wish to try Ubuntu, so I hope I can get this to work. I am not sure as to where I can add a driver when booting from DVD. With suse it used driver megaraid_sas. I then tried that driver with Ubuntu from DVD. But it still does not see the hard drive (Raid1).

If you boot suse and run:

lsmod > ~/suse.txt

Backup the file someplace, Then boot ubuntu and run:

lsmod > ~/ubuntu.txt

then compare the 2 you can see the module required to make the controller work.

If you read above I did that. The module was megaraid_sas. But Ubuntu does see the hard drives with this module. I also tried every megaraid and mpt module von Ubuntu.

I found the driver under LSI as a Megaraid SAS9240. Why Fujitsu uses this other name is so that one has buy there service. Then I had to install the older 10.04 LTS with kernel 2.6.32-21. You have to follow their instructions completly through and it will work even after updating the Server.
