10.10 Install Stuck says Ready when you are...

Asked by Jon Perry

I'm going to start with this is my first time trying to install any form of Linux so please bear with me. Also feel free to call me an idiot as necessary.

I'm trying to install 10.10 on my machine. It's about 80% done and says Ready When You are... and underneath is a black box that says ** Message: useQuirks: 0/ 0 /
There is a skip button that is grayed out next to this.
Am I doing something wrong, is there something I need to enter to have it continue, am I an idiot?

I suggest you install Lucid. Lucid is not only LTS (supported for longer). But Lucid is stable and released, Maverick is NOT ready and NOT stable. It has functionality holes and bugs galore until and even slightly after release. If this is your first Linux you want it to at least work well rather than exhibiting the many bugs affecting even fundamental things in Maverick.
