Ubuntu 10.4 packeth continues to generate errors

I install the packeth program that comes with ubuntu 10.4 which install successfully, but when I launch and use it crashes. any ideas why?

Launch it from terminal, what is output? How did you install it?

I did, I buld a packet attempt to save and get the following error message in terminal after the application terminates...

dtiernan@ubuntu:~$ sudo packeth
[sudo] password for dtiernan:
g_thread NOT supported

Segmentation fault

i first installed ubuntu, then I ran the manager an updated all packages to the latest version. Then from manager i searched for packeth. then I clicked on it, then applied then the manager installed the progam.
