How best to pressure Youtube/Google over their Broken Theora codec.

Asked by James Lewis

Since Canonical is a Google partner, is there any possibly way that pressure can be exerted on Youtube to fix their Theora codec... the version they are using is extremely old and since the 1.1.1 update to the Theora libraries in 10.04 it is no-longer possible to upload .ogv video's to youtube. This is more than a little inconvenient since some apps only produce theora and hence it has to be transcoded with associated loss of quality before upload to youtube.

When I select report a bug, it just takes me to a page asking for a process ID,.. I don't really see how to log something like this as a bug when it's not against a specific package, this is why I entered it as a question... can someone explain what the process would be to log an integration problem that's not related to a specific package... or as in this case, an example where canonical needs to lean on a commercial 3rd party.

Can you help with this problem?
