After the 18 months of free security updates, what hapen?

After the 18 months of free security updates, what happen? End users need to paid for it? or there is not more updates because of end life of the software?

Hi,
You won't get any new security updates: the version is close and it's not subject to money. You will need to upgrade your Ubuntu version. If you think that time won't be enough you might choose a LTS version with 3 years support in desktop and 5 years in servers. See more here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LTS
