auto detect conection to wireles-G broadband router "Linksys"

Greetings! ma'am/sir, thank you for encouraging us to use ubuntu in our system by helping us with our computer problems.

we have 3 desktop in our home, wired and networked with LINKSYS wireless broadband model no.WRT54G with dsl connection. before all of our os are xp, now i tried ubuntu6.06 LTS with one of them.

the problem== the computer with ubuntu os cant detect the network/dsl. sorry but im used to winxp that everything is spoonfeed to lazy users like me, that when i connect the rj45 wire to my cpu, it is automatically detected

i love my computer with ubuntu now. but i want the network and dsl/internet like before. what should i do? please help me. thanks in advance!

If I remember rightly, Dapper doesn't have NetworkManager, which makes this sort of thing easy. You should get a hold of version 7.04 from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download.
