Firefox slow in 10.04

Just upgraded from ubuntu 9 series, where page loading was all but instant. Now, however, firefox 3.6.8 pages load slowly in new upgrade to lucid lynx. Pages load about 10 times more slowly. System pages from docs, etc load just as rapidly as before. Need recommendations to regain browser speed.

You can also try using an alternate DNS etc.

Firefox is complete garbage without a LOT of cheap hacks. I suggest you try alternatives rather than wearing your firefox goggles. There are a lot of better browsers out there.
