How do I disable paste when mouse wheel gets clicked?

Asked by Juan Montoya

In Ubuntu, you can click on the mouse wheel to paste the text you have on the clipboard.
This is, however, a problem when I just want to roll the wheel to scroll and accidentally click on it.

Hi. Please follow the instructions mentioned in this Ubuntu wiki page Disabling middle-mouse button paste on a scrollwheel mouse: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Input#Example:%20Disabling%20middle-mouse%20button%20paste%20on%20a%20scrollwheel%20mouse

What if I don't want to get rid of the middle button click altogether? If I'm not mistaken, this solution will just map the middle mouse button to a non-existant button. I need the middle mouse button for closing tabs, opening links in new tabs automatically and possibly more that I don't remember.

Can you help with this problem?
