10.04 install problems.

Asked by degush

Trying to install 10.04 on a new PC HD. All I get is "input signal out of range". The 9.04 live CD (which is running now) works fine. The question is is it advisable to install 9.04 & upgrade my way to 10.04 and what are the chances when I arrive @ 10.04 that it will still malfunction? Prior to the new HD 9.10 ran fine in a dual boot with Win7. Have the same gear otherwise, monitor, drivers, etc.

I would suggest installing with the alternate cd. Bottom of this page: http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/

Installed using alternate CD. At 1st boot I got the same results. Did an Ubuntu advised update, rebooted @ all is well. The OS seemingly is running OK now. Yhank you!
