want to change mouse pointer size Ubuntu 10.04

Asked by JOHN

I want to make my mouse pointer bigger. I went to HELP and typed: change pointer size in the search box. The responses included a listing for Panel Trash Manual Change Mouse Pointer Size. I clicked this and got a "Loading" indication. Five minutes later it is still loading.

I suspect that it will never load. Any suggestions?

John

Go to System>Preferences>Appearance>Customise>Pointers, and then select what you want.

You could be forgiven for thinking it should be under System > Preferences > Mouse, but you actually need the more general Appearance Preferences (System > Preferences > Appearance).

From there, select the "Theme" tab at the top, then click the "Customise..." button towards the bottom.

In the "Customise Theme" window that appears, select the "Pointer" tab. At the bottom of the window there should now be a "Size" slider. The pointer may not resize as you alter the slider, but if you point at something outside the preferences window, you should see the new size take effect. Once you've found a size you're happy with, close the preferences windows to retain the bigger pointer.

Of course you are quite correct Marc. Being over 65, I had a Senior Moment and did not quite get the sequence right from memory
