Difference between CUPS Web Interface and Genome CUPS Manager

Asked by stefangachter

The printer settings depicted in the CUPS web interface - at http://localhost:631/printers/ - differ from the settings in Genome CUPS manager - at System -> Administration -> Printing. Actually, changing the settings in the Genome manager does not affect the settings in the web interface. Furthermore, applications use the default settings - specified in the web interface - and not the settings specified in the Genome manager. This is even the case for the 'Print a Test Page' in the printer's property menu of the Genome manager!

In my opinion, the configuration in the CUPS web interface and in the Genome CUPS manager should be the same. For example, paper size should be A4 in both cases and not US Letter in one and A4 in the other.

Any hint is welcomed, because nobody else seems to have this problem...

Thanks, Stefan

You need to file this request at
https://launchpad.net/gnome-cups-manager

The "upstream" database of bugs and feature requests for the GNOME CUPS Manager is at
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/browse.cgi?product=gnome-print

What I recommend you is to search at the links above if this has been reported, and if it has been, add your input. If it has not been reported, please report.

If this is clear, please close this report as solved. Thank you.
