Not able to use terminal

Hello All,

I am fairly new for Ubuntu . I istalled Ubuntu feisty . It was working fine for some days yesterday i was trying to enable Desktop-effect(Combiz) suddenley it rebooted my system. After reooting the system i found that there was no menubar with any application. Even i can not able to fire any command from terminal . I have only way to left is reinstalltion and i don't want to do so. Please help me .

If you don't see the menu: press alt+f2 and type
alacarte

If you don't see the panels: press alt+f2 and type
gnome-panel

It is possible that Compiz doesn't work on that computer, try F2 Alt+F2 then metacity --replace.

Can you help with this problem?
