Black screen after loading screen... HELP!!!

Ok so i got a bad virus on my laptop. I wiped the hardrive clean and now im trying to install Ubuntu from a CD. I downloaded the iso file and wrote the image onto a CD. I tried it on a deifferent computer and it worked fine, but when i boot it from my laptop, i get a black screen after the loading screen. I have no idea what to do as im new to this. On the other computer, i got to the login and everything was fine, but not with my laptop...

Oh and i tried it before i wiped the drive and still had Windows and i encountered the same problem.

Any help at all would be appreciated!!!
