auto mount desktop

Asked by Amir Moulavi

When I insert a CD into CD-ROM, the dialogue window appears to ask what I want to do with the CD. and It correctly mount the CD and open the konqueror to display the contents, but there is no icon on the desktop to remove it safely and I should umount it manually.
What's the problem?

Did you disable the drive icons from appearing on your desktop?

Open a terminal (Accessories/Terminal) and type the following:

{ gconf-editor }

Then navigate to: Apps/Nautilus/Desktop - is "volumes_visible" unchecked?

What about:

Control Centre / Desktop / Behaviour / Device Icons / Show Device Icons
