I was Just wondering if there was a way to get the nVidia accelerated Graphics card driver for the GeForce 2 while offline. I tried to download the nVidia driver from www.nvidia.com it just gives me errors, like you are currently in x server please exit x server. So is there a way to get the accelerated graphics card driver for my computer offline so i can enable desktop effects?

geforce 2 will have troubles to show desktop effects.

Is you still wan to try, boot from your "normal" install and install the package nvidia-glx-legacy, or nvidia-glx, or nvidia-glx-new (I don't remember wich one is for geforce 2) and install this package on you ubuntu, then go on your restricted driver manager, and activate the acceleration of you nvidia. Reboot

(AIGLX does not work with nvidia-glx-legacy and if you have a Geforce 2 card that is not an MX then you HAVE to use nvidia-glx-legacy. The only way round that would be to use XGL)
