My ethernet connection keeps quitting. I need to get it to stop that

I am running ubuntu 9.04 and the ethernet connection will suddenly just unplug itself. How can I stop that? ki am running on an AMD 2 core cpu with an asus MB and a 250 GB harddrive. I am using the ethernet prot on the MB.

If you disable ipv6, it may help. If not then when it drops, run:

dmesg | tail -n 20

What is output?
